Executive Psychotherapy in London

February 8, 2016adminExecutive Psychotherapy

If you have a  problem that is impairing your performance, if you are a leader or manager, if you live in the capital, then four words may matter to you: Executive Psychotherapy in London.

Do executives who live in London need more psychotherapy than leaders or managers living elsewhere? Is there something about London that makes it more likely that executives need psychotherapy?

Does the fact that London is such a large city lead to greater need for executive psychotherapy, simply because of the larger population?

Or is it by dint of the greater stresses of living in a congested city?
Or is it the greater competition that leads to higher stress?
Or is it because people in London are more emotionally literate, or are more aware of how important psychotherapy can be in increasing their performance and quality of life?
Or is it because there is more provision, and therefore easier access to help, that leads more people to use executive psychotherapy in London.

Frankly we don’t know if it is all of those factors, one of those factors, or some of them! A well-informed guess would be that congestion, greater competition, local culture and availability of help all lead to greater use of executive psychotherapy in London. But such guesses have a habit of being completely wrong.

Whatever the answer, if you are in London, and have a problem that is impacting your work performance, you have many options to obtain executive psychotherapy.

If you do choose to address your problem, what should you look for? Whether you are seeking executive psychotherapy in London or elsewhere.

First, chemistry: you absolutely must get on well with your therapist.

Secondly, choose someone who specialises in helping people like you, for obvious reasons – the therapist will have seen your type of problem many times and will have helped people just like you with that problem.

Thirdly, choose someone who makes it clear that YOU are the client, and that YOU should be in control of what help you get and for how long.

Please, protect yourself – do not sign any contract for any number of session. Why? A great executive psychotherapist in London or elsewhere can often help you to solve your problem in one session, or perhaps two or three.  Avoiding signing up for any number of sessions, because that is to commit yourself to costs you need not incur, and, (this is dark), it puts your therapist in a conflict of interest – they then have a motive to spin out your therapy for as long as you have committed, even if they know your challenge could be successfully addressed in one or a few sessions.

As an executive, you know that putting anyone in a conflict of interest situation is not wise. If you seek executive psychotherapy in London, choose someone who wants their interests to be perfectly aligned to yours.
